After many roller-coaster rides, Tiger Woods and Elin parted their ways in 2010, officially. Elin was silent for nine months before the announcement of divorce went official. After the announcement, she finally spoke to PEOPLE and shared her true feelings about becoming a stronger version of herself.
Talking to the magazine, she said, “I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.”

It is hard to be a single parent in today’s day and age. And Elin was 30 years old then, with two kids. Handling the divorce and her husband’s betrayal wasn’t an easy task. She said, “I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.”
Elin’s life after the divorce
Their divorce was finalized in the Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, and on August 23, 2010, Elin received $100 million as divorce settlement. After the divorce, the former couple stayed together in a civil relationship so that their two kids didn’t have to suffer.

Elin’s action right after the divorce was to be strong and dedicated to her kids. Her goal was for both herself and her children to adapt to their new lives and environment. She continued with her studies, but her focus was only and only her kids.

She improved her life after the divorce. She earned a degree in psychology and focused on her career. Not just this, she sold her North Palm Beach, which she purchased after getting separated from Woods, and with the rest of the money, she made her children’s life better.
It was, in fact, a mutual decision for Woods and Nordegren to remain friends for the sake of their children’s safe and better future. And they managed to continue that till date.
