West has been quite busy recently after she stepped down from the pro scene after the US Women’s Open. The Hawaiian golfer collaborated with Nike to launch a new product to commemorate her excellent career in the game of golf. They were designed for her final appearance on the LPGA Tour. Moreover, the brand-new makeover of the Air Jordan 1 was suddenly released in stores on Tuesday for $200.
The female golfer took to Instagram and posted a story on how the shoes sold out in just 5 minutes. The Air Jordan 1 Golf “Wave” was designed keeping in mind her style of play in the sport while considering her roots. Being the first player to wear high-tops, she had always favored them throughout her golfing career, which reflected in the unique design of the footwear.

The sellout time proves that the AJ 1 Golf was a hit as soon as it was released due to its special appearance. The shoes are equipped with a special Swoosh logo designed like a wave to commemorate her life in Hawaii, while in her personalized pair, her daughter’s initial with the Korean word for “mother” was present on the tongues. The word “ALOHA” was written on the outsole, with a floral print for the insoles.
The shoes were certainly a beautiful way to commemorate the ex-golf pro’s final time on the greens, and coupled with the emotional goodbye at Pebble Beach, one could not have asked for a better farewell!

At the 2023 U.S. Open held at Pebble Beach, the former LPGA star failed to make the cut as she went on to score 2 over par 73 in her first round and a score of 74 (+3) on her second. After giving an emotional speech, she bid a teary-eyed farewell to the game of golf as she headed home early that weekend.
The Hawaiian golfer’s career has undoubtedly inspired many women to take up sports and will remain an icon forever on the LPGA Tour. However, the question remains: why did West leave golf so soon? Her retirement came as a result of her many injuries and physical conditions. Her wrist injuries after her win at the 2014 US Open caused her to take breaks in her game, both long and short. And while she had tried to maintain her full-time Tour schedule even after it, her body just could not keep up!
