While European fans are agitating over Sergio Garcia’s exclusion from the Ryder Cup team this year, the player himself has not expressed any contempt over the decision. He merely expressed his disappointment a few months back since his chances were as good as over. The 43-year-old has played in ten Ryder Cups since 1999. And yet, he couldn’t earn a spot in the European Ryder Cup team this year.

Instead of getting upset, Sergio Garcia has chosen to spend his time peacefully doing what he loves the most. Playing golf and spending time with fans and kids. Recently he has shared a glimpse of his day out with a cute little fan and it has warmed the hearts of his fans everywhere.

Sergio Garcia recently had an outing with young golfer Emma, who is from Austin. She appears to be a fan of the star golfer. Garcia had tweeted about spending the day with her at the Lions Municipal Golf Course. In the tweet, he had tagged the handles of the golf course and the Fore Kids ATX initiative.

The Sergio Garcia Foundation supports the Fore Kids ATX initiative, which aims to aid at-risk children in the Austin community. It is possible that Emma is one of the children receiving aid from the Fore Kids initiative.

Garcia had also shared pictures of the two, walking along, and in a buggy posing for the cam. He tweeted: “Special day at Lions Municipal Golf Course. A few holes with Emma, up-and-coming youth golfer out of Austin. Spending more time on our putting game today.”

Moving back to the Ryder Cup, although Sergio Garcia has kept quiet about the decision, his partner in the Ryder Cup, Jon Rahm couldn’t be silent. When the announcement came up about LIV golfers in the Ryder Cup, he had boldly expressed his contempt for how politics has played a major role in this matter.

While the American Ryder Cup team has provisions to play LIV golfers, the European team did not have any spots for LIV golfers at all. Rahm could not accept this as a valid reason for not having Garcia on the team.

In a press conference, during the Memorial Tournament, Jon Rahm was asked about Sergio Garcia not being on the Ryder Cup team, in 2023. Rahm spoke his mind and said he would miss him, and it’s unfortunate that things had to go this way.

He emphasized how the Ryder Cup is about the best Europeans against the best Americans. Rahm reiterated how it’s sad that politics has got in the way of a beautiful event such as this. He also reminisced about the glory of how a Spanish duo usually shines bright in Ryder Cup events.

Rahm could not believe that Sergio Garcia, one of the greatest European players, was not fit to be in the Ryder Cup team. He claimed that playing or not playing LIV golf should not factor into Ryder Cup selection ideally.
