The KPMG Women’s PGA Tour Championship has been one of the most difficult events so far this season.

Players strived hard to make their way to the trophy. Young talent as well as experienced players gave their best, no two ways about that.

Among young talents, Rose Jhang particularly caught the eye. It doesn’t come as a surprise that she is receiving accolades, not just from fans, but also from some of the top male performers over the years.

Michael Kim praises Zhang’s swing

It was Rose Zhang’s first major event. Though she couldn’t win, she did become the talk of the town for her swing speed.

Michael Kim, who himself is a respectable name in the golf world by virtue of his one win on the PGA Tour and several cuts that he has made in the major tournaments, is a big admirer of Zhang’s swinging style.

He shared a picture of the player’s move and captioned it: “I laugh when some people say men should model their swing after lpga players because their swing speed is slower. The flexibility Rose has to get to that position is incredible. Even I would struggle to get there without some worry of injury.”

As soon as he tweeted this about the 20-year-old sensation, all hell broke loose and fans appeared to concur with him, as suggested by their comments here.

One fan applauded her strokes by stating, “Can see why she is so consistently accurate. Not a lot can go wrong with a move like that.”

Another added, “Just seeing that makes my elbow and shoulder hurt lol. She has a beautiful swing that’s for certain.”

One fan, meanwhile, praised Michael for spotting the skill in Zhang’s game. “Love your twitter comments Michael, keep up the good work!”

How well did Rose Zhang play in the KPMG Competition?

At the event, Zhang had a decent round with a one-under on the opening day. The second round, however, turned out to be a disaster for her as she turned in a 74.

But she didn’t lose her heart and over the next two rounds improved exceptionally for scores of 68 and 67. A total score of 5-under par meant she tied for the 8th spot.

Rose, who turned professional earlier this year, confessed she wasn’t expecting too much from the event.

Yet she wants to improve in a big way. All the mistakes she made at New Jersey, she doesn’t want to repeat them.
