At the age of 25, Viktor Hovland, has accumulated some impressive golf accolades. He has also secured his name among the top players these days. His recent win at the BMW Championship is a testament to his supreme golfing skills.

After successful performances at St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship, Hovland is now at his best at the $75 million Tour Championship. The stakes are incredibly high with the winner bagging $18 million.

Hovland, who himself is delivering exceptional performances, is tied for the first spot with Collin Morikawa. But in the middle of such intense competition, the Norwegian golfer is performing his friend duties by keeping tabs on Zach Bauchou. Bauchou is playing at the Korn Ferry Tour this week. At the Tour’s press conference, Hovland was asked if he is advising Bauchou following his progression at Albertsons Boise, where he is tied at T5.

Hovland replied, “Not so much advice. We just keep in touch because we’re really good buddies. Last time I caddied for him and he didn’t play all that well. We kind of had a heart-to-heart conversation.”

Hovland said that he gave his friend an honest review of his game. And he thinks that Bauchou is improving now. Continuing his praise of his friend, he said, “There aren’t that many guys that work harder than him. So it’s fun to see that he’s playing well.”

In June, Hovland, who had just won the Memorial Tournament a day ago, showed up as a caddie for his friend and former Oklahoma State teammate. This was during the final U.S. Open Final Qualifying round. When Zach asked Viktor if he would be his caddie on golf’s longest day, Hovland agreed. However, the duo failed the round and Bauchou didn’t make it to the U.S. Open. Hovland accepted that his assistance didn’t help Zach that day.

He said, “I don’t think we were on top of our games that day, both of us, so, yeah.” But it was an impressive display of friendship on Hovland’s part.
