In a recently aired podcast, on Monday by Bunkered Golf, the spotlight was on Ian Woosnam as he delved into the intricacies of Ryder Cup selections. In this candid conversation, Woosnam candidly expressed his sense of disappointment at the ongoing developments.

He said that it was unfortunate to see what was going on, and that he finds it challenging to wrap his head around the current situation of the sections with the LIV Golf and the PGA controversies.

He passionately stressed the importance of having Europe’s top players on board, irrespective of their current affiliations. He also added, “we want the best players in Europe to be playing, it doesn’t matter where you play and that’s how I see it but I don’t make the rules.”

LIV Golfers’ fate at the Ryder Cup 

Any hopes that LIV Golfers had of competing at the Ryder Cup were quashed after record Ryder Cup points scorer Sergio Garcia, made a revelation that he was told by the team captain Luke Donald, that he had “no chance” of competing at the Ryder Cup.

Brooks Koepka who was in the race for automatic qualification until early this month, faces uncertainty due to his ineligibility to play the balance event owing to him being a LIV golfer.

The perplexities continue to mount as even Henrik Stenson, a prominent figure in European golf, faced repercussions for his decision to align with the LIV Golf tour. Stenson was stripped off the European Captaincy after he decided to join LIV Golf.
