After the FedEx Cup playoffs, the PGA Tour has entered its fall season. With that, the tour has currently reached the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club for the Zozo Championship, which is taking place from October 19 to October 22. Even the field has several renowned PGA Tour names, like Ryder Cup veterans Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, and others.
But this year, the PGA roster missed out on a vital member of the Zozo Championship that is, Tiger Woods. The legendary golfer who marked his record-tying victory in the same event won’t be in Japan to tee up this year, but his record-equaling victory still lingers over.

Tiger Woods encountered an accident back in 2021. Since then, he has been suffering from health issues for a long time, especially a knee injury. As a result of this, the GOAT had to withdraw from the Masters Tournament earlier this year, which took place at Augusta National Golf Course.
After a period of rehabilitation, Woods could be seen making an appearance along with his son as his caddie. Other than that, he was seen participating in his business endeavors related to TGL and others. But the fifteen-time major winner hadn’t played professionally since then. Besides, he would be missing out on the 2023 Zozo Championship, the same event where he had a record-tying win in 2019.
The event marked his 82nd win on the PGA Tour, a record that was held by the legendary Sam Snead before Woods’win. The latter went head-to-head against local hero Hideki Matsuyama and won by three shots to secure his long-awaited win.
Indeed, Tiger Woods’ legacy is unsurpassed, and he is expected by the golf fraternity to make a comeback on the greens soon.
Tiger Woods is yearned by his colleagues for a comeback
Some of the PGA Tour pros who played alongside Woods in the Zozo Championship made their stance clear on expecting Woods to play on the PGA Tour. Tommy Fleetwood, who played with Tiger Woods in the Zozo Championship, said, “I played with him when he won at East Lake. I played with him at ZOZO when he won. Clearly, I’ve been good to him in the latter part of his career. So if he wants to hire me when he makes his return, I’ll play with him full-time. We can negotiate and talk about it.”
