Data golf is a platform that primarily focuses on numbers. Based on these numerals, the results for numerous variables are drawn. The latest tweet by Kyle Porter is one of the prime examples of the same.

According to the data presented, the All-Time Ranking shows Tiger Woods as the golfer who was ‘best at their best‘ over the last three decades.

The ranking constituted over 200 golfers as per the quality of their best stretches of golf, thanks to the Data Golf Index.

Based on this index, Woods’ numbers indicate a powerful score of +4.04 on Jan 28, 2008.

The quality of his stroke play at that time has been unmatched to date. The statistics were so astonishing that even the user who posted this could not help but compare it to Scottie Scheffler.

The tweet said that since 2004 the only golfer who has played better than the current World No. 1 is the golf G.O.A.T Tiger Woods. To further explain this situation, the account put forth Scheffler’s fantastic record from the previous tournaments. However, it was still not enough to match the fineness Woods’ game brings to the sports

The only two players between Woods and Scheffler on the list are David Duval and Vijay Singh. But, their performances were dated from before 2004. Moreover, it is important to note that the number difference between Scottie Scheffler and Righty also takes into account the major tournaments.

While the 27-year-old holds one major title to his name, Woods is the 15-time major champion. His last major win took place in the year 2019 at Augusta. What makes this ranking even more interesting is the 82-time PGA Tour winner’s absence from the greens for the past few months.

Tiger Woods and his limited on-course presence this year

Even though the ranking speaks for itself about how legendary Tiger Woods is as a golfer, this season hasn’t really favored the golfer. Not only did he withdraw from the 2023 Masters, he has not participated in any major golf tournament since then. His presence on the greens has been quite limited.

The reason behind the absence has been Woods’ ankle surgery. It is not like the legend is new to injuries. In fact, he has been a survivor of one of the most terrible accidents. However, that did not deter the passionate golfer to make a comeback and resume his game.
