The golf world slowly turns its attention to the upcoming Ryder Cup. Much IS at stake as the two teams prepare to face each other at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in September in Rome. Although many golfers have managed to make it into the two teams, some are on the lookout for their call which may or may not happen. Topping this list is none other than Talor Gooch.
Although the American golfer has had a wonderful year, it hasn’t been confirmed yet if he will get a spot on this year’s Ryder Cup team. The golf world is much curious as to whether the amazing performance put forth by the LIV defector will get him a place in the much-anticipated tournament.

The spotlight on the tournament began when the question of whether the LIV Golf defectors would be allowed to play. Many players heaved a sigh of relief as news emerged of the merger between the Saudi-backed league and the PGA Tour.
There hasn’t been much of a revelation about the plans for the USA team. The captain Zack Johnson hasn’t been too clear either, about how he will assemble his squad. This has left a curtain of uncertainty regarding Gooch.
Hopeful about his selection, Talor Gooch was seen answering some questions regarding the same as he said, “I’ll just continue to play good golf and let the people whose opinions matter, hopefully, we can sway them a little bit.” One can’t deny that things are not looking good for the 31-year-old.

The golf pro’s performances in the year’s majors include a T34 finish at the Masters while missing the cut at the PGA Championship, US Open and The Open Championship. He can only look to impress everyone with his LIV Golf performance.

Gooch and his insane run at LIV Golf
The American pro golfer has managed to pull off stellar performances in the Saudi-backed league to win three tournaments over the year and is currently in the 4th spot in the LIV Golf player rankings. He has managed to win at the LIV Golf tournaments held in Adelaide where he finished with a score of 197(-19), in Singapore where he scored an amazing 17-under-par 196, and in Andalucia which saw him at a score of 201 (-12). Moreover, he has managed to earn a whopping $13,552,316, the maximum by any LIV golfer so far.
The golfer is currently sitting at 86th on the Ryder Cup US points list. Playing at the LIV Greenbrier, he will attempt to put up another remarkable finish to catch the eye of many as he hopes to get picked by the captain of the Ryder Cup team for his country.
