The game of golf has seen many a great player but very few as extraordinary as Tiger Woods. Often touted as the greatest golfer of all time, he is seen as a legend because of his remarkable performances on the course. Due to his injuries and treatment, Tiger Woods has not been much active in the game of golf for the past couple of years. Nevertheless, the pro golfer has still managed to beat everyone in the sport despite his absence. A recent post revealed a stunning truth about the golfer and it left the golf world stunned!

Although the golfer has not been playing the game for a while now, he still ranks at the top above every other golfer in terms of his PGA Tour career earnings with an eye-boggling $120,954,766. After the golfer turned pro in 1996, he won two championships in the same year which earned him $790,594 in total. In the following years, he has been able to win many events which propelled his earnings by a whopping margin.

The recent Instagram post by Golf Digest shows just how much money the GOAT has managed to earn per shot in his golfing career leading up to 2017. The pro golfer has earned an average of $1,282 for every single shot that he has hit in an official PGA Tour event, marking the lowest at $277.79 in 1996. Peaking at $4,191, he won a total of four times in 2008 including the US Open where he defeated Rocco Mediate at the Torrey Pines Golf Course.

While the huge amount of money is nothing considering the legacy that the golfer has created in the sport, it is nevertheless shocking how much money his each shot has earned. His earnings per shot went on to even challenge the prize money of the events that he participated in. Moreover, the second-highest earning golfer, Phil Mickelson, trails behind him at a total of $96,572,310.

Tiger’s entry into golf as a landmark moment in history

The 47-year-old legend turned pro in 1996 after which he won his first major championship a year later in the 1997 Masters Tournament. This would mark the start of a great career. The golfer has a total of 82 PGA Tour wins out of which he has won a total of 15 majors in his career with the last one coming in 2019.

His career skyrocketed as soon as he entered the sport and he has managed to leave nothing short of an amazing legacy, including a career slam in 2001. Despite taking an extended break due to his injuries, his popularity hasn’t waned and fans are eagerly awaiting his return. Although he has made much money in his career, each penny was worth it due to the amount of hard work he put in for every one of them.
