Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington was in the lead for most of the 2023 Senior PGA Championship. But the third round of the competition saw his advantage reduced to a one-shot lead over fellow contender and 2021 Ryder Cup nemesis Steve Stricker.

Amidst a nail-biting final round on Sunday, an unfortunate situation involving Harrington arose at the 16th hole. After the 51-year-old hit the tee shot into the gallery, it ended up hitting a spectator on his head.

A true gentleman, the golfer then headed up to meet with the fan. In a gesture that has won many hearts, the Irishman presented him with a signed glove and $300 in cash! Later, the golfer shed some light on his kind gesture, saying that he had implored the man to take his wife out to dinner. “I hope I gave him enough for dinner. (Laughing.) 300 dollars should cover it, wouldn’t it?” he said.
