The prestigious Ryder Cup is a month away and the players are waiting desperately to see their names on the list. With many of them having already secured places in the respective teams, some await the Captain’s picks.

And while Zach Johnson is yet to make the critical decision of Captain’s choice he is assured of the support of his Vice Captain, on the field in Italy. In a recent interview, he praised the 21-time PGA Tour winner and how he does not want to see him giving up any time soon.

Zach Johnson wants Davis Love to continue playing for the Ryder Cup

For this year United States Ryder Cup Captain Zach Johnson named Davis Love III as one of his Vice Captains very early in the month of January. While making the choice, Johnson said that he had been involved with the Ryder Cup since 2006 and had witnessed that Davis’s passion for the event was unmatched.

And Johnson is proud of his choice. Counting on Love’s terrific experience, his captain is assured of a good result. In his recent interview with Golf Subpar with Colin Knost and The Sleezy Man presented by Golf.com, Johnson said, “Davis has done a million of these. He said, ‘Dude I should be done’ I said, you should be but you’re not.”

On the field, Zach will be counting on Love to be his big aid.

After announcing Love as his pick, Johnson had earlier said that when he thought about who would be the vice-captain, there was no doubt about Love. “I will lean heavily on the experience and insight of DLIII in Italy as the U.S. Team works to retain the Ryder Cup.”

Love, on his part, was extremely happy to be representing his country at the event and fill the position once again as he had done in the past.

Davis Love is psyched to be a Ryder Cup captain again

Davis Love has been the captain of the Ryder Cup twice in 2016 and 2012. In 2016, he led his team to a 17-11 victory at Hazeltine National Golf Club. As a golfer, he has played six times at the Ryder Cup. Upon his selection, Love expressed how happy he was with the news. “The Ryder Cup is one of the truly special events in all of the sports, and I am so honored to be named a Vice Captain in Italy in 2023,” He has also served as the vice-captain of the US team in the years 2010 and 2018.

He further promised that he is ready to do whatever it takes to support his captain and his team. The much-anticipated event is yet to finalize all its 50 players that will be decided with the Tour Championship. And players eagerly await who Johnson picks for his team!
