The Masters Tournament is nearly upon us. Unsurprisingly then, it’s time for predictions at this year’s inaugural major championship. The addition of LIV golfers on the roster has made the picks extremely difficult, with no clear victor in sight. But not many can overlook golf legend, Tiger Woods, who is a five-time winner at the Masters. Yet, Paige Spiranac revealed her bold picks for the tournament, which left out Woods.

The ex-golfer decided to reveal her picks through a series of Instagram stories. She decided to categorize the players under three tiers – the favorite, good value, and longshot, with four players each at all levels.
So who all featured in Spiranac’s list? In the favorite section, the 30-year-old chose Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Sung-Jae Im. The picks were wise, considering the profile of her selections.
For starters, Scheffler is the defending champion at the Masters Tournament. The 26-year-old arrives in excellent form, having won the Players Championship last month. He also enters the tournament as the number-one ranked golfer in the world.
Similarly, McIlroy began 2023 with a win at the DP Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic. But he has failed to catapult on his winning start, despite briefly regaining the World No. 1 ranking.

What about the rest of Spiranac’s top picks?
Jordan Spieth has made a slow start to the season but has made it to the top 10 regularly. He has previous experience winning at the Augusta National, having emerged victorious at the 2015 Masters Tournament.
But Im’s selection stands as a surprise. The 25-year-old has limited experience playing in major championships and has merely won two PGA Tour events in his young career. However, he has a stupendous record at the Masters, with two top-10 finishes in three appearances.

The list left out Tiger Woods, which must have left fans angry. The 47-year-old has a fantastic record at the Masters, with five green jackets in 24 appearances. Spiranac herself is a dear supporter of the golf great, but it seems like she has harbored hopes of other Masters winners.
