“What’s the perception of Greg Norman nowadays in Australia?” he directly asked. In response to this, Chamlers showed great respect to his fellow Aussie golfer and praised him immensely.
“You know he carried the game in our country for a number of years. There was a time there if where Greg was in the field, you had an event. That’s all you needed. The people would flood through the gates.” Chalmers showed the positive impact Norman has had on Australian golf fans by comparing him to Tiger Woods. “As Tiger is here, he was that in Australia,” Chalmers said giving Norman a very big compliment.

Chalmers says that Australia doesn’t care about the politics of LIV Golf
Chalmers further clarified that the fiasco PGA Tour and LIV have caused in the golf world hasn’t made its impact in Australia where fans only care about the game. “Australians aren’t caring so much about the politics of LIV Golf to be honest. You saw what happened in Adelaide. They went and watched golf. They had a good time. They don’t care about the other stuff.” This is a big statement that shows beyond all the drama what fans really care about at the end of the day is a good game and nothing else.
Things have been quite disruptive for Norman after the news of the merger surfaced but he continues to extend his support. Norman should find some solace in the kind words of his namesake and a fellow-nation golfer after all the harsh criticism he has received after joining LIV Golf.
