In the latest episode of her podcast, The Match & The Merger the golf beauty briefly discusses the new and iconic merger of LIV Golf and PGA Tour. Paige Spiranac assesses the PGA-LIV merger and its one crucial drawback
Despite sharing a weird equation with the LPGA Tour, the golf diva has vouched in its favor in her podcast when she raised the vital question of how this new merger has done absolutely nothing for the women’s golf team.
” You know who got really f****d over? And all of this is LPGA Tour. Yeah, what is it? What is the support for the women? This was the one time where it’s like, you could have added this in to really benefit.” Paige emphasizes rightly that the merger was a great time to do something about benefitting women’s golf, something Spiranac is a staunch supporter of herself.

Spiranac pointed out the fact this paramount decision of the merger that was finalized for $3B, and was apparently done with the intention of elevating the game, never reached its true potential by excluding women in golf. “This is for growing the game,” She said “You know what we’re gonna elevate the game, but we’re gonna leave women out of this and maybe checks out but it’s like, come on, come on. It such an easy play for you to bring them in to truly elevate and grow the game.”

Spiranac supports LPGA Tour despite a fall out with them
In the past LPGA Tour players have expressed their disapproval of the Golf beauty, and Spirianac is well aware of this. “I totally understand why the girls on the LPGA don’t like me,” she said. But she has chosen to take the high road and not let a silly feud hamper the chance of peace. “There are so many women athletes who need to get more recognition. I would like to use my platform to amplify them.” Spiranac has once said. Although she has played on the Ladies’ European Tour, she was unable to make the cut for the LPGA qualifying tournament. After that, she retired in 2016.

Had the Tour bodies included LPGA in their new deal, it definitely would have worked wonders for all parties included, especially women’s golf, which does not get any profit from this merger. Nonetheless, by extending her support to the LPGA Tour, Spiranac has proved that she is above and beyond petty differences and an avid supporter of the welfare of women in golf.
