The Korda household is presently contesting at the PNC Championship, with the representatives being Petr Korda and his youngest daughter, Nelly Korda. The event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando boasts several legendary names, but the 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship winner is expected to grab a share of their eyeballs.
But is Petr Korda one of them? The former tennis star was asked whether he would prefer watching Nelly Korda play or practice with her. Given the competitive mentality, Korda Sr. surprisingly took the easy route.

“I walked a lot of holes with her the last few weeks at her tournaments,” he said, before being interrupted by Nelly. “Yeah and I was asking what he was doing out here and why he wasn’t hitting the range and putting,” she said. The exchange eventually led to laughter, with Petr unabashed about the situation.

Despite a host of competitors, Nelly Korda and her father will look to make their mark at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club this week. All eyes will be on the former, who comes into the tournament after a month-long rest.
But the younger Korda was on fire in the final stretches of the previous LPGA Tour. She successfully defended her Pelican Women’s Championship crown to secure victory at the $2 million purse tournament. She also displayed a strong performance at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, finishing tied for 10th place.
