Xander Schauffele has been under the radar for many reasons this year. While his father got harsh backlash for his Ryder Cup comments, Schauffele found himself in hot water, swimming around the rumors of joining LIV Golf. However, Schauffele has been vocal about his stance on LIV Golf and has stayed loyal to the Tour till now.
And amidst all the drama, he has found a distant look alike on the PGA Tour. In a recent video of Schauffele, the world number six was seen chit-chatting about getting recognized as Scottie Scheffler because they share one similarity between them!

Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler both have last names with the same alphabets and similar pronunciations. As friends, golf fans often get confused between the two over the names. Schauffele shared instances of both their experiences on his outing at the inauguration of the Justin Thomas and Jack Nicklaus-designed Panther National Golf Course.
While playing a few shots, Schauffele narrated the story about getting mistaken for the current world no. 1. In the latest video on GOLF.com, host Dylan Dethier asked if he had spelled his name correctly. Schauffele said, “People have been calling me Scottie all year; I didn’t even correct them.” The PGA Tour star hilariously revealed the reason too and said that he “will take” being called the No. 1 player in the world any day!
Schauffele, however, claimed to also find it “funny” that people found them to look alike despite the “one-foot” height difference and the possible facial differences the two have. Moreover, it is not just one-sided, as the 7-time PGA Tour winner claimed that a similar incident had occurred with Scheffler as well.
Schauffele stated that someone had mistaken Scheffler for him while he was coming out of a church in Texas. That story made the 30-year-old proud of his reach to the audience, regardless of how funny the incident was.
It seems that Schauffele has found himself an amiable colleague despite his disagreements with the league, which have been prevalent since late last month when he came out and fired a few shots at the PGA Tour for being indiscreet on behalf of all players.

In an exclusive interview with Today’s Golf, Xander Schauffele opened up about being kept in the dark by the PGA Tour. Schauffele was particularly talking about the deal obstructed between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The abrupt news of the billion-dollar framework shocked many players on the tour, including the 2017 Tour Championship winner.
Schauffele agreed that the circumstances might have been at the time of the deal; however, he claimed that it was going to be hard to trust the tour again. He also added that he “wouldn’t mind seeing some new leadership take place” on the PGA Tour.

Since the announcement, despite the initial shock from tour pros, there have not been many objections. The transaction should ideally be completed by the deadline of December 31st. However, seeing as how it’s nowhere near being completed, the future of golf still remains uncertain!
