Undoubtedly, Rickie Fowler’s 2024 season has been unexpectedly disappointing. From the very start, the 6-time PGA Tour winner missed out on winning circles and unfortunately, did not finish in the top 10 in any of 22 events he had played so far. However, regardless of how poor his form is, the 35-year-old is eligible to play all the events whether the regular or the fall season.
How does he qualify for every event? Last year, Fowler won the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic, this was his first win in almost three years. Courtesy of this victory in Detroit Golf Club, Fowler is eligible for the PGA Tour till 2025. But in the 2024 season, because of his ordinary form, for the first time in a while, Fowler’s rank on the FedExCup Standings has him ranked at 108th (at the time of publication).
And for the golfers to be eligible for the ZOZO Championship, they need to be in the top 60, so is he? Although the 6-time PGA Tour winner is out of the top 60 in the regular FedExCup Standings, in the fall ones, he is under it. That’s why along with 2-time major winner Xander Schauffele and defendant champion Collin Morikawa, Fowler will tee up at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club on October 24th.
