Varner III credits the success of his golfing career to a youth program at his local course. As golfing gear is one of the most expensive, this program helped him play without burdening his family financially. The golf pro took advantage of this excellent chance to hone his abilities. Additionally, through this program, he was able to obtain a scholarship for East Carolina University, which ultimately paved his way to the PGA Tour. Varner came to the realization that, without that chance, his career may not have progressed as far as it had.
