In Vancouver, British Columbia, Megan Khang showcased her prowess on Saturday at the CPKC Women’s Open. She scored birdies on four of the final five holes, carding a 4-under 68. This remarkable effort gave her a three-stroke advantage. As she aims for her maiden LPGA Tour win, Khang bounced back from setbacks on the 10th and 12th holes. She marked impressive birdies on the 14th to the 16th and finished strong with a 15-foot putt on the 18th.
The leader from Massachusetts built on her second-round 66 by scoring 68 in the third round, totaling 11 under par. She notched six birdies, with four in the last five holes. Now, she leads by three shots over South Korean Sei Young Kim, who scored an ace on the par-3 eighth and an eagle on the 14th.
During her post-game interview, she talked about delivering some of the most impressive golf performances of her career. She also discussed how she mentally prepares for the challenges that lie ahead.
“Honestly, it’s a lot of like learning over the past few years to stay patient, don’t get you ahead of myself. I told Jack before the round, hey, I feel like I’m a little anxious right now and I really need you to be there for me,” Megan Khang shared candidly.
Further, she added, “I might not talk as much. Shocker for most people who don’t know me. No, at the end of the day, you know, I know Jack is there for me and I’ve obviously trying to do my best and he knows that.”
She also reflected on the support she gets during the games. “So he’s there to remind me that like, hey, let’s not try so hard and just play our game,” Megan said. Jack Fulghum, her caddie, has been a steadfast pillar of support, guiding and supporting her throughout the game.

Megan Khang and Her Balanced Approach to Tournament Pressure
When asked about leading the leaderboard and her preparation for the upcoming challenges, Megan Khang responded: “I’m being blatantly honest, the next 12 hours looks like food and sleep and a coffee in the morning. I’ve been trying to keep it really routine. Today it was kind of hard having a 2:50 tee time knowing that you have like a one-shot lead.”

She concludes by saying, “But at the end of the day I’m just going to try my best to keep that same mindset, stay patient.
