PGA Tour Star Jon Rahm, the runner-up of the 2019 DP World’s BMW PGA Championship, is back on the green for the same tournament. The event holds a special place since the Ryder Cup will commence shortly after.

Many European Ryder Cup players are participating in the event. During an interview at the BMW PGA Championship on August 13, Rahm confessed his strategies, roles, and plans for the Ryder Cup. Let’s dive deep into it.

Jon Rahm confesses about his role in the Ryder Cup team

As the 2023 Ryder Cup is nearing, all the players are gearing up for the game. The PGA Tour star, Jon Rahm when asked about how he sees his role in the Ryder Cup team, stated, “The same as every other Ryder Cup. Trying to get as many points as I can, and hopefully get the win. Like I said, we are all equal.”

He further continued, ” I can just talk to the rookies if they need any advice and give them how I handled my first Ryder Cup and experiences, but we have so many people that can have.” He emphasized the collective wisdom within the team and the multiple sources of guidance available for newcomers.

Talking about the leadership group, he mentioned, “When you have a captain like Luke who has been very successful in Ryder Cups, a vice captain like Chema who has more experiences and stories than most of us combined, I think there’s very little I can say to make a big impact.”

Like Rahm, a ton of other players are gearing up for the challenge at the Wentworth Club, set to commence from today.

Many notable players for the European Ryder Cup team, including the likes of Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Robert MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg, and Matt Fitzpatrick, among others, will grace the event with their participation. Defending champion Shane Lowry will also be a part of the field, and he’ll be hoping to silence naysayers who criticized the Irishman’s selection into the Ryder Cup team.
