Ranked the number one golfer in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings before the start of the Founders Cup, Korda has failed to make the most of its $450,000 winner’s share. She carded scores of 72 and 74 in the opening two rounds, which weren’t enough to make the cut.

It sent Korda crashing out of the competition, thereby putting the brakes on her successive top-10 finishes. The 2020 Summer Olympics gold medalist secured a joint-fifth position at the DIO Implant LA Open before she finished on the podium at the season’s opening major, the Chevron Championship.

She also shot a seven-under-par at the Wilshire Country Club for a T6 spot in her last event. But days after raising expectations behind her involvement with well-known caddie Joe LaCava, Korda has suffered an unexpected slump!

With her weekend surprisingly clear this week, Korda decided to relax a bit and get her shades on for a beach trip. She posted photos and videos of herself enjoying her little vacation on her Instagram account, captioning the post, “Little R&R after a tough week.”

But how long will Korda’s downtime last? The 24-year-old played in consecutive weeks at the Chevron Championship and the JM Eagle LA Championship, which could lead her to take a complete rest before teeing up for another event.

To be played at the Baltusrol Lower Course, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is likely to be an enthralling affair, with some of the biggest names in women’s golf set to take part.
