Golf is a tough sport. The mental fortitude to compete in a game that is not just a battle among peers but also against the forces of nature can be exhausting. Sometimes it yields great results, and sometimes it disappoints. However, having the support of a loved one can go a long way toward making a golfer feel more relaxed on the links.

For Georgia Hall and Ryann O’Toole, this comfort takes a whole new meaning. The LPGA golfers have been dating since they were first paired on the circuit. Now, their emotional support for each other saved them from stress in a disappointing situation.

Hall and O’Toole have often shared their desire to be partnered on the Ladies Professional Golfing Association’s circuit on their social media. Finally, at the DOW Great Lakes Bay Invitational, their dream came true. The couple were paired for the event at the Midland Country Club and they presented a great unanimous front to tackle the golf links in the infamous St Andrews location.

Sadly, for the two female pros, they scored 73 and 66 in rounds 1 and two, finishing with 1-under par. They ended in T46, thus missing the cut alongside several delightful golfers such as Lexi Thompson and Brooke Henderson, Xiaowen Yin and Women’s PGA Championship winner Ruoning Yin, and many others.

Having each other share in the disappointing finish uplifted the couple in their dealing with the missed cut. Georgia Hall shared her gratefulness for simply having her support system beside her during the challenging gameplay. “laying a @lpga_tour team event with your other half @ryannotoole can it get any better?! Had such a fun time playing my first @dowglbi We will get ’em next year” she wrote on her Instagram.

The couple’s love for each other has become a testament in the golfing world. The English star of the links has often shared how much she values having her American girlfriend by her side.
