Tiger Woods made one of the most incredible comebacks in sports at the 2019 Masters. However, along with Tiger, there was another guy who was on cloud nine after this result.
James Adducci, a 39-year-old man from Wisconsin, became a millionaire as he made a wild gamble on Woods winning the 2019 Masters. But the road to becoming a millionaire was not straightforward. He didn’t have the $85,000 when he placed his bet. He was $25,000 in debt, as his protein supplement business had closed down. Hence, Adducci had to sell his Amazon stocks and use whatever little he had to make the wager.

James Adducci reveals why he thought Tiger Woods would win the 2019 Masters
Tiger Woods was making a comeback after a while as he was suffering from multiple injuries. Hence, no one thought he would win the 2019 Masters. However, James was confident about Woods’ winning around a month earlier. “A month before is when I knew I was going to do it,” said Adducci.
“I watched Tiger’s performance at the Tour Championship, and things seemed to be going his way. I looked at how well he did there and some other factors you can’t put stats behind. It wasn’t about the stats for me. The fact that this was going to be his first major in front of his kids, I was convinced he would win,” revealed James.

Furthermore, he said that this was his first sports wager. So he flew from Wisconsin to Las Vegas to place the bet. And after rejection from two sportsbooks, the SLS Casino accepted his wager. So he went to the local Walmart and bought a backpack to put his $85,000 cash in after withdrawing it from the bank.
On his way back, he shared his ride with a mother and child to save $2. They were speaking about their financial issues. “I felt sick, knowing that I had $85,000 in my backpack and they were talking like this.” Additionally, he said he would like to help them if he sees them again.

As the final round on Sunday began, Woods was on the verge of creating history. James said he woke his 82-year-old father screaming like a madman and texted his wife that Tiger Woods had won the event. But what did he do with the new winnings? “I’m a responsible guy. My background is finance. I’m going to invest most of it. And we’re going to grow it,” concluded James. Hence, in this way, Tiger Woods, if not directly, helped James Adducci earn around $1.19 million overnight.
