The Ryder Cup is the most prestigious international tournament of the season, taking place at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, starting September 29. While the US team for the Ryder Cup still considers LIV golfers to have a chance if they qualify through the points system or as the captain’s pick, the European team will adhere to only the PGA Tour players, but the selection process remains the same as the US team- 6 through the points system and 6 through the captain’s pick.

As the preps for the coveted cup are on a high,  one of the PGA pros, who currently stands at world number 24, made an unfeigned admission about the Ryder Cup ahead of the $20 million FedEx St. Jude Championship.

One such player is Sepp Straka, who currently stands on the European Ryder Cup team bubble along with Yannik Paul. Straka made a blatant disclosure about his feelings for the upcoming Ryder Cup.

In the TPC Southwind Press Conference, he said, “In downtime you do. You definitely do when you’re just at home. But with preparation and all that, you just kind of prepare for the tournament. It’s pretty easy to keep your mind on it when you’re in the Playoffs because they mean so much, but yeah, when you’re off the course, when you’re away, you definitely think about it.”

Highlighting the fact that, with the playoff preparation and all, the competitiveness masks his Ryder Cup worry but when he’s off the course, the ponders creep in.
