LIV Golf has been the talk of the town of late, ever since its players dominated at the Masters. Following that epic, nail-biting adventure, things seemed to have started to look up for the new league. They now head over to Australia for their fourth event of the year, riding high on their Masters performances. And the likes of the 2023 LIV Golf victor, Cameron Smith, have a lot of praise to sing about the Aussie fans!
Cameron Smith stands by his home country
For the first time in its two seasons, LIV Golf heads over to Australia for an event, and so far, things are looking good. From its tickets being rapidly sold out to the event featuring a party hole just like the PGA Tour has at the WM Phoenix Open, the Adelaide event promises the fans a good time and some good golf.

Cam Smith has spoken about how the Aussie fans are “right behind” LIV and how they could possibly add a second event to that region, in Australia or New Zealand, in coming years. That would be a great idea, imo. Make it a true global tour. The Aussies know how to bring it! 🔥🇦🇺 pic.twitter.com/7tKx9IFUtK

The LIV players are just as excited as the fans, and so much so that the Aussie star, Cam Smith hopes this won’t be the league’s only Australian event in the future! “Australia loves it,” he said as per a recent Flushing It tweet, talking about the new series he signed nearly a year ago. “They’re right behind it.”

Smith explained that he hoped LIV’s time in Australia would only increase in the future. “It would be nice to kind of have maybe one more there or one more in New Zealand or something like that,” he stated, claiming that both the fans and the player would love it if something like that happened on the Saudi-backed series.

Standing by his home country, the golf pro was certain that LIV spending more time in the region would be a good move. “Like, you know three weeks out of that kind of area and come back to the US for a couple then go over to Europe,” he stated.
The 2022 Open Championship winner was convinced that the new league touring across continents would be a smart format for LIV. The breakaway tour leaders themselves share a similar vision in that they want LIV Golf to eventually be a globally celebrated golf league. But only time will tell if that will ever come to pass!
