Paige Spiranac rules upon the hearts of the fans with just a click. Only a few days ago, she shared a photo of herself dressed up as Velma from Scooby-Doo as her Halloween inspiration. She wore the character’s typical orange turtleneck top and red pleated mini skirt and raised the temperature and the heartbeat of the fans. And now she is back to her day job of influencing and her latest topic of discussion is the Ryder Cup coverage.

The Ryder Cup was to be featured on Netflix’s golf special show “Full Swing”. The streaming giant was hoping to get the coverage of Ryder Cup on the course and in the locker room for the upcoming third season of the show. But when Zach Johnson put his foot down and denied such private access it was a disappointment for Netflix and the fans. And now the golf beauty Paige Spiranac, turning on her detective mode, is sharing her take on what could be the reason behind it.

The dust at Marco Simone Hay has settled now with the European taking the Cup home, but until last week things were in total chaos. And sharing her take on its broadcasting issue is the diva Paige Spiranac. Bold and vibrant Spiranac is a golf influencer to all intents and purposes. She approaches all aspects related to the sport fiercely and is not afraid of sharing her opinions. In her podcast, ‘Playing a Round with Paige’, she discusses all topics of golf, and in the latest episode, she unveils what could be the reason behind denying access.

Paige says, “I think it was because they weren’t going to see a penny off of how much they would generate, how much Netflix would generate for some of the other players. And so we know that they’re following Max Homa. I’m sure Max is getting paid quite well for that. And if what Jamie Weir said is true, then Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, they’re not going to get a penny from it.

She continued: “So why give them access to something that is seen as so sacred, and then you’re not going to benefit at all from it? I don’t think it had anything to do with like getting an inside look or keeping the team room chemistry high.”

Paige added that the players weren’t even spending any time together because everyone was sick. She further expressed that since everyone was separated anyway it doesn’t matter. “I think it comes down to money.”

Zach Johnson and Team US draw the line for Netflix’s intimate presence in locker room

In an interview with Golfweek, Johnson revealed that he went from one player to another to discuss this subject. Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Max Homa, and all others opposed this proposal. Agreeing with all the 12 players, Zach said no to the coverage in the locker room and also made it clear that the whole team was involved in the decision. The first two seasons of Full Swing were a success.

With the intense coverage of private conversations on the greens and the team room, Netflix was hoping to boost the show even more. The loss of team US was a big disappointment for all the fans and Spiranac herself. However, she maintained full faith in the team and said there is always the next term to look forward to.
