We have already witnessed the hatred LIV defectors have been receiving since the Saudi-backed league’s origin last year. And while they are only allowed to play in a few tournaments on the PGA Tour, the points they garner from their wins are minimal. As a result, their chances at international events like the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup also remain at stake because they are low on points as compared to the PGA Tour pros.
Out of all the LIV defectors, Brooks Koepka, who recently had a win at the 2023 PGA Tour Championship, has at least managed to seal the 7th position in the Ryder Cup standings currently. But even that dwindling light of hope got even more diminished as Phil Mickelson’s rival passed on his harsh remarks on Brooks Koepka’s Ryder Cup chances. Days after this, another LIV compatriot takes a smart jab at the Ryder Cup.

Days after Brandel Chamblee voiced his frustrations, a LIV loyalist, Paul Casey, takes a wily dig at these comments by elucidating his thoughts on the Ryder Cup. The 46-year-old said, “Let’s say Ian Poulter isn’t playing the golf he wants to play. Or has played in the past. And so won’’t be a part of the 12-man team. I would still have him be involved. That’s what is going to be missing in Rome, guys like Poulter and Westwood in the locker room”.
Taking away golfers like Ian Poulter, and Sergio Garcia will kill the essence of the European Ryder Cup Team. The core of Europe’s victory for the past two decades would be missing, and that’s unacceptable.
In addition to this, he also mentioned, “I’ve been in those locker rooms. The pundits and the commentators have not… The Ryder Cup is so valuable in terms of what it gives to golf in Europe, not just monetarily. We don’t want that to be damaged any more than it has been already… Will certainly watch the Ryder Cup. And I might just have a piece of Euro Team clothing on under my top. ”

He reflected on the fact that the European Ryder Cup Team means a lot to him and will always be a part of him. While he expounds on the importance of Ryder Cup locker room spirit, Brooks Koepka finds himself in muddy waters.
Brooks Koepka’s Ryder Cup dreams get shattered by a former PGA Tour pro’s brutal words
Brandel Chamblee is clearly not a huge fan of the PIF-funded league and has picked up feuds with Phil Mickelson on the same issue in the past. Now, adding to Brooks Koepka’s Ryder Cup worries, Chamblee passed some insensitive comments and trashed the LIV loyalist in front of the golf world.
