The 2023 US Open concluded on Sunday. While it was a dream outing for winner Wyndham Clark, and runner-up Rory McIlroy, the LACC course seemed to be a nightmare for other golfers who struggled evidently. The $20 million tournament overall proved to be very challenging for the players.

One certain European Tour pro specifically found it difficult to find any luck before and after the tournament. However, his troubles have less to do with the sport and more to do with equipment handing by an airline. This drew a strong reaction from the golfer who could not help but call out the irresponsible behaviour.

David Horsey’s equipment gets misplaced… again!

The English golfer David Horsey recently participated in the US Open after a gap of 14 years. His performance on the greens was nowhere as good as he would have expected it to be, with him not making the cut.

Although, it was the crisis post the big tournament that got his goat in a big way. While returning from Los Angeles, Horsey reached his native land safely. Unfortunately, though, his clubs did not!

It was British Airways the guilty party. Thus, when the mishap took place, Horsey immediately took to Twitter to demand some accountability. He said, Well you?ve done it again @British_Airways? I even made it easier for you this time by only giving you one flight for my clubs to get on. Landed in LHR [London Heathrow Airport] with no spanner?s?AGAIN! Shambles of an airline.”?

He went on to suggest he was done with the airline, and that he now needed another set for the next tournament he was going to play in.

The story has a comical side to it, especially how Horsey addressed the situation.

This was not the first time that Horsey had to face a situation like that.

Lightning does strike twice for Horsey

A similar faux pas happened a few days ago before the kick-off of the US Open, when he landed in LA for the third major championship of the year. It was as if the biggest nightmare of any golfer had come to life. Horsey had reached American soil but his kit hadn’t which obviously would have stressed the golfer out, especially given the prestige of the competition.

On top of the misplacement, the airlines had taken more than three days to return pieces of equipment. Thankfully, they reached in time before the golfer took to the mighty greens. Tagging the airline (the same one!), the professional said sarcastically, “Better late than never?more than 3 days it took @British Airways to get my clubs to me. Good job it?s only a small event this week?”

The first time the golfer was less aggressive while communicating his words, however, it was only natural for him to be hostile when the mistake was repeated. Although, as a response to Horsey’s second tweet, the airline reached out to the European golfer to resolve the problem.
