Cheyenne Knight is a name that is well-known in America after showcasing great golf throughout the season. This star golfer has been picked in the Solheim Cup US Team by Stacy Lewis as one of her captain’s picks along with two others, Ally Ewing and Angel Yin.

Now, after Knight’s stellar win at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational this year, the likelihood of getting noticed by Lewis had optimum chances. Finally, that became the case and the LPGA phenom is now making her way to Spain.

Now, as Knight buckles up for the match, she makes an honest confession in an interview about the Solheim Cup. In the interview, she said, “I had conversations with Stacy after me and Elizabeth won Dow… I was so excited. It’s always been one of my goals… But I think it was not a huge surprise, but I think just talking to her and Angela a little bit after Dow, both of them kind of eased my mind a little bit. Because I didn’t get any Solheim Cup points from Dow.” The golfer reflected on the fact that she is excited about her selection but since captain Stacy Lewis hinted at this beforehand, it didn’t come out as a surprise.

In addition to this, she also said, “I got, I won National Freshman of the Year at Alabama my freshman year, obviously. And I didn’t get picked. Then kind of the same thing again happened my junior year… And so that kind of stung, you know. But I think those were goals and I was kind of, you know, a little bit just disappointed by it… that just makes this so much sweeter”.
