As the two youngsters were greeted by LPGA icon Nelly Korda, undoubtedly both juniors were surprised. This pleasant surprise was accompanied by beneficial lessons on three golf shots. Korda did not directly start providing instructions to the junior players. First, she introduced herself to the teenage athletes and then asked for their opinion on what they wanted the golfer to hit.

The answer from young Owen was an obvious 3-wood. To this, the golfer smiled and shared, “My coach and I call it the Fairway Finder.” Furthermore, she explained when the shot could be executed.

She said if the weather is particularly windy and hitting a golf ball might be difficult on both sides, a fairway finder is something one can rely on. The 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship winner referred to the shot as a little bit more consistent.

Following this, the LPGA Star hit the ball at a speed of 145 mph (miles per hour) and asked the two juniors to try hitting a shot as well. The 16-year-old Ruger did not hesitate in asking the golf professional’s advice concerning a stinger.

Nelly Korda wasted no time as she instructed the junior player to first take on a bit of a narrow stance. Secondly, to add more weight on the front foot, as the stinger is not about transitioning into the back foot. The significant thing to focus on is to hit down instead of lifting up the golf ball.
