The stage is set for the PGA Championship to begin this week. 99 of the top 100 golfers in the world will compete in this event, setting up a fierce competition. One of them is reigning champion Justin Thomas, who is keen to defend his crown following a strong showing with a top-20 finish at Quail Hollow earlier this month. He even flaunted his preparedness by sending a strong warning to his competitors just days ago. But it’s not all serious for the joy-loving golf pro!

Recently, the 2-time major winner was spotted having fun at Oak Hill today, flaunting his humor at the expense of a close friend and former major championship winner. So, what antics did JT pull off this time?

Thomas, who is well-known for his outgoing personality, is one of the friendliest faces on the Tour. He frequently interacts with other golfers, fostering special moments that reflect the spirit of brotherhood in the sport. Undoubtedly, the 30-year-old has many friends in the sport. Notably, one of his closest pals is Jason Dufner, who was unfortunately the butt of JT’s joke this time around!

This week, Thomas added a dash of humor and enjoyment to the formal environs of Oak Hill. A recent image of him taking a selfie with Dufner’s PGA Championship winning plaque swiftly began making the rounds on Instagram. In it, the defending champion can hilariously be seen snapping a photo with the former champions’ tribute on the wall.

In 2013, at Oak Hill in New York, Dufner grabbed his only major win at the PGA Championship. And while it may look like JT is belittling the five-time PGA Tour winner’s maiden major victory, their close bond makes it certain that this is just another of his funny antics! It is clear that the pair share a close bond and are two of the best golf buddies in the world.

Like the other 155 players that will take the course this week, JT is also preparing for the major. And not just on the course! Following his T14 performance at the Wells Fargo Championship 2023, he took the week off to focus on rest and recuperation.

The golf pro demonstrated his dedication to maximizing his preparation for the tournament by sharing his sleep performance in an Instagram story. By posting a snippet of his over 90% overall sleep performance on Instagram, he sent out a warning to the competition that he had every intention of keeping his crown!
