Every athlete needs to take care of their body and keep fit. This helps them perform better and maintain that consistently. Many often tweak their diet or exercise to work towards a certain goal. Bryson DeChambeau, too, changed his diet and workout routine in 2020 to gain strength on the course.

Although it worked, it came with a series of its own troubles. DeChambeau’s body was starting to show negative effects from his routines, and he realized it was time for a change.
DeChambeau’s unconventional golf tactics
In a recent appearance on the ‘Five Clubs’ podcast, DeChambeau opened up about the issues he faced with his body and his weight. The American golfer was looking to increase his strength and maintain his range of motion, which he achieved before his 2020 US Open win.

The 8-time PGA Tour winner made known his unique approach to the game when he gained strength and became the longest driver on the Tour in 2020. But the path there wasn’t easy, and it certainly wasn’t healthy for Bryson.

The diet the 29-year-old was following was very vigorous and rough. It also began to take a toll on his body. “I ate things that were not great for my system and that I was really sensitive to,” he said. Bryson described a year and a half later, he had started feeling “weird” and that his gut was “messed up.“
Bryson DeChambeau is happy with his recent body transformations
After the LIV Golf defector realized that the diet he had been following for over a year was causing him more harm than good, he decided to make a change. He flipped over to the other side completely. “I went completely healthy, went on a Whole 30 diet, got a nutritionist, did blood work, measured stuff in my gut biome,” he said.

He claimed that both his new diet and chef had helped him drop “20 pounds in just a month.” He explained that he felt much better now and said, “All the inflammation has just left my system and I feel a lot more at ease.”
Bryson could see visible changes to his body too. He said he was glad he was able to get leaner and look younger. “I looked like I’m 20 again, not 35, so I’m happy about that,” he said and added how he always took things to an extreme.
