Tiger Woods married Swedish-born Elin Nordegren in a private ceremony in Barbados in 2004. The golfer only invited their families and some of his close acquaintances to the wedding. However, he didn’t cut any cost in their wedding arrangements and even had an extravagant honeymoon afterwards.
“We’re enjoying our honeymoon diving every day, and it’s the first time we’ve been alone for a while,” Woods said after his wedding. “We’re on our own and enjoying that.”
Woods didn’t let anybody know of his wedding date until a day before the ceremony. However, he was not that secretive about his honeymoon. the 28-year-old groom and his 24-year-old bride spent their honeymoon on his 155-foot yacht named ‘Privacy.’

The golfer and his new wife had an extraordinary honeymoon. Yet, he had time to conduct a conference call to discuss the $5.25-million Target World Challenge, through which he revealed his honeymoon spot.
Why did Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren keep their wedding a secret?
It was not a secret that Woods had started dating Nordegren, the nanny of the Swedish golfer, Jesper Parnevik’s family, soon after the 2001 British Open. After dating for 18 months, the golfer proposed to her while taking a sunset walk in South Africa. Nonetheless, the couple didn’t want to publicize their wedding.
“We didn’t really tell anybody until the last minute,” the golfer explained to the media why the couple kept their reportedly $1.5 million wedding a secret. “We didn’t want it to get out,” he added.

After winning more than 30 championship titles, including all four majors, Tiger Woods gained the best golfer of the era title before 2004. However, that didn’t make him call many of his colleagues to his wedding.
The 28-year-old only invited Notah Begay III, Mark O’Meara, John Cook, and Charles Howell III to his wedding ceremony. Notably, only Cook and O’Meara attended the event. While Begay’s back injury restricted him from traveling, Howell had a PGA Tour championship to play during Woods’ wedding week.
