The PGA Tour schedule is a relatively hectic one, with pro-golfers often expressing their fatigue as a result of it. Earlier this month, Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm had talked about feeling mentally and physically exhausted after weeks of playing in different tournaments.
In fact, the 22/23 season on the Tour features over 50 official events, including all the Majors. This starkly contrasts their rival league, LIV Golf, which boasts 14 scheduled events in 2023. One LIV pro who would like to see the number of events increase in the Saudi-backed league is golfer Jediah Morgan. In light of recent admissions by Morgan, golfing heavyweights like Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, and Dustin Johnson have now denounced Morgan’s sentiments.

Spain’s Sergio Garcia is currently at the top of the leaderboard, along with LIV Adelaide winner Talor Gooch. Garcia, the captain of Fireballs GC, has always been very outspoken about his support for LIV Golf. On Saturday, he proved his fealty to Greg Norman’s breakaway league once again by expressing his satisfaction with its 14-event format. “We came here to play less, not to play more,” stated Garcia.
Talor Gooch, who won the $4,000,000 payout at LIV Adelaide, also agreed with the Spaniard’s sentiments. “It’s something we’ve all talked about in different ways, different facets. But 14’s a really good number. So, I think everyone’s pretty happy with 14,” he said.
Days ago, Australia’s Jediah Morgan had expressed that the LIV Golf schedule could be a bit “frustrating.” Speaking with news.com.au, Morgan said, “Part of being a good golfer is playing a few tournaments in a row and getting some form that way.”

While Jediah Morgan wants to play some more, PGA Tour defectors Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson think otherwise. LIV’s 14-match schedule has helped the golfers spend more time off the field in the company of their close ones. Here is what the PGA defectors had to say in response to the 23-year-old.
During a LIV Adelaide conference, 3-time Major winner Koepka had said, “I think right now it’s just perfect. We’ve got 14 here and then four majors. 18 is a pretty good schedule.” 2-time Major winner and 4Aces GC Captain Dustin Johnson also refuted Morgan’s claims, saying, “I’m fine just where it is.”
