Besides being a world-class golfer, Dustin Johnson is also a family man and balances both worlds perfectly. Johnson is married to model Paulina Gretzky with whom he has two sons. Last week, LIV’s 4 Aces captain Dustin Johnson performed at the Bedminster event. It was played at Donald Trump’s course where even the ex-POTUS made an appearance to raise the spirits of the players.

It was the Saudi League’s 11th event for this year. Dustin Johnson didn’t perform well in the event but he is not one to dwell too much on the past as his recent activity has shown in the company of his family. Let’s dive into the story.

Last week Dustin Johnson entered the event with the hopes of a second LIV Tournament win. But his dreams of winning the event shattered big time as he finished in 11th place at the end of the third and final round. The “Cheetah” totally failed to live up to expectations.

He started well with a first round of 68. But the next day, his form suffered and he carded a round of 74. He recovered a bit with a 71 in the final round but it wasn’t enough for him to finish inside top-10. Cameron Smith shined at the event and made his second victory of this season.

However, the former world No 1 has found the perfect remedy for his disappointment. He is currently busy enjoying quality time with his family. He appears to have moved on from Bedminster. Johnson’s wife Paulina Gretzky has shared a special family moment in her Instagram stories where Johnson is beating the heat with his sons and a couple of other kids. The clip was shared by Johnson as well on his Instagram stories. In the video, a couple of kids can be seen slipping and sliding right into the pool.

Paulina was also present at the Bedminster event to support her husband but sadly he missed the top 10 and Cameron Smith took the first prize home. Smith’s team Ripper GC won the team event too. And with that Johnson’s hopes for Ryder Cup have suffered a setback.

What does his LIV failure mean for Ryder Cup chances?

Johnson is among those LIV Defectors who have openly expressed his desire of playing at the Ryder Cup. But with hundreds of players in the queue, it is not the easiest goal to achieve. This season he has made only one victory at the Tulsa tournament. And in this season’s 11 LIV Golf tournaments so far, he has only made five top-10 finishes. With such stats, he can now only wish that his previous experience of 2021 comes to his aid.

Since LIV golf events don’t offer any ranking points, the defectors can make it to the Ryder Cup only if they are picked by their captain, who will definitely keep in mind how they have performed in whatever events they have played.
