However, the defending champion this week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will not be playing. Daniel Berger withdrew from the event due to a back injury, thus, ending his chances of defending his title. The cause of the injury is not known yet. Not to mention, Berger has a history of rib and wrist injuries in the past.

Berger finished tied 20th position last week at the Farmers Insurance Open. Notably, he was paired with rap music artist ScHoolboy Q, who makes his first appearance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Berger would tee off at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Thursday. Now, Kevin Stadler will replace Berger in the lineup.

The field now only includes 8 professionals in the top 50 of the World Golf Rankings. This is due to the commitment from others at Saudi International, which begins on the same date, February 3rd. The lineup this week at AT&T Pro-Am includes Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay. Will Zalatoris, among a few others.
