Ever wondered what goes on in the mind of Pro golfers when they are on the greens? What do they think when they hit the ball and it doesn’t move the way they want it to? Well, three-time major winner, Jordan Spieth, decided to give his own on-field commentary during the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open and it was insightful and hilarious!

Spieth is currently playing at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open, which is on day 2 of its schedule. Playing at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, he finished round one 2-over (72). Prior to the start, he was practicing hard. While on the course along with his focus, Spieth gave viewers some deep insight with his own on-field voice-over commentary.

“Go hard, Go hard,” he exclaimed as the ball didn’t go as planned. “It’s just one thing after another.”

“Hit it wind… aah, no way! Come on.” As the ball got caught in the wind. 

“Get lucky, Get so lucky.” As he hit the ball, followed by “Ah, it’s a terrible kick.” as the ball didn’t hit the mark that he expected. “It kicked hard left. Like it’s probably supposed to.” As he dissected what actually happened to the hit. 

“Holy water ball.” As he hit the ball with a full swing. “Oh, it’s kicked straight. Should be short right of the green.”

“Ah, Chunked it. Dang it.” 

Hearing the hilarious on-field commentary one can see how Spieth analyses every shot. Seeing what he did wrong allows him to correct his mistake and perfect the next shot.

Looking for another win at the Scottish Open

The last win for the PGA Tour pro came at the 2022 RBC Heritage with a score of -13. Most recently he appeared at the 2023 US Open but with a score of 143, he failed to make the cut. Fans are hopeful that he improves his game in the event.

Currently in the lead is Byeong Hun An with -9, followed by Davis Riley in second place with -7. Among the others who are a fan favorite of the 2023 Scottish Open is Xander Schauffele, the defending champion. Rory McIlroy sits at third tied with Thomas Detry at -6. Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Wyndham Clark, and many more are trying to work their way up. The second round will commence on Saturday and you can catch the broadcast on The Golf Channel, ESPN Plus, Peacock, and Paramount Plus.
