Once you are at the top, you feel like life is all glitz and you own everything around you. But when the reality of life hits you, everything turns upside down. You don’t even realize it, and it slips off of your hand. Who would be better suited to understand this than our very own Tiger Woods? He has had the taste of both; once on top of the world rankings, he had slipped down to the 1206th position in the world in October 2022, according to an article in Golf Monthly.
The 46-year-old legend held the number-one spot for a record-breaking 683 weeks. Before hitting a new worst position, world no. 1271, according to his OWGR profile. Wood’s career started plummeting in 2008 when he faced multiple injuries and surgeries, including reconstructive surgery on his Anterior Cruciate Ligament. But as Woods was trying to pick him up again, he met the worst nightmare of his life. Woods was involved in another car accident, this time so severe that he was about to lose his leg.

Nothing could break Tiger’s spirit, not even the life-shaking car accident. As soon as he recovered, Woods could not wait to be back on the course and was seen three times last year. In the Masters in April, Woods once again impressed his fans by finishing 47th, with only his wayward putting standing in the way of a higher finish. That display of the legend attempting to reclaim his place in the world ranking gained him 228 places. However, after his disappearance from the professional world in July last year, his ranking has massively dropped to 1271 position, according to OWGR.

Hope for the return of the legend
The 82-time PGA Tour champion hopes to make a comeback soon. He wanted to play in the Hero World Challenge; however, dropped it after finding it would be difficult to walk 72-holes in four days. Since then, he played in two unofficial events, The Match and the PNC Championship.
Although it is still unknown when Woods will make a comeback, all his fans are hoping to see the return of the fierce golfer on the course once again. The legend is sitting at his career-low ranking of 1271, though considering his health conditions, it has not been a shock.
