A fan commented on the golfer’s YouTube channel and views, saying, “Any elite athlete that has their own channel will get views. I’m not disparaging Bryson or his content in any way. But he definitely had a head start.” DeChambeau was always a loved golfer, and his popularity increased significantly this year. Before he joined LIV, he had a name for himself, but the PGA Tour did not allow him to have his own digital presence in the way of the YT channel.

This fan talked about Bryson DeChambeau’s content on YouTube and gave a bold statement: “He is a top name in golf so can get the names on that draw crowds. I love watching his stuff, but all he has done is copy everybody else, but with bigger names than the others can get because of who he is. He has created nothing.” This fan believes, just like almost every golf creator, DeChambeau engages in healthy challenges on his channel. However, what’s different is that he invites big names like Donald Trump, and, John Daly, and more, which helps him to attract more views as compared to other content creators.

Expressing similar sentiments, another added, “Best golf creator in the business? Way to spit in the face of all the golf creators whose content is just as good and had to build from the ground up rather than already being famous first.” Highlighting that other creators like Grant Horvat aren’t as famous as DeChambeau even after posting similar content like engaging in healthy challenges. Even Paige Spiranac built her status as an influencer from the ground up after retiring from professional golf.

One fan talked about DeChambeau’s accreditation with LIV Golf and said, “He needs this; it’s killing him that he gets zero views playing golf in LIV events! He hasn’t won a LIV event yet this year, but he’s a winner on YouTube! Norman must be impressed!” LIV Golf events don’t attract many TV viewers, meaning the golfer doesn’t gain much exposure from playing in them. This is where his social media popularity becomes crucial, helping him boost his visibility. Yes, LIV Golf Nashville indeed witnessed a 240% increase in ticket sales, after his US Open win but it sure isn’t a long-term thing.
