Brooke Henderson recently finished second in the Amundi Evian Championship, playing it as the defending champion. She will take on the likes of Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang for the CPKC Women’s Open this week. Notably, Nelly Korda tied for the second position in the CPKC last year.
Rose Zhang has played six tournaments this season so far, all in the past three months since June. Of the six tournaments, she finished in the top ten positions in four tournaments. Among the four was the Mizhuho Americas Open Championship, in which she bagged the title. With Korda and Zhang in terrific forms, the contest is going to be nail-biting.
Speaking of practice, Henderson seemed to have a pretty good assessment of the course and the conditions. She stated that she had seen all eighteen holes during practice and that the condition was amazing.
The 25-year-old then spoke about what is going to be the most crucial aspect of the game this week. “I think ball striking is something definitely going to be a big key here.”
The two-time major winner further explained the reason skilled ball striking would be a deadly weapon in the tournament. “The fairways are pretty tight and the greens are pretty small, so ball striking will definitely be very important and a big key.”
Moving on to her form, let’s look at how Henderson has faired with her performances this season.
