In the race to the CME Globe, the women golfers are vying for the $2.5 Million CPKC Women’s Open title. And Megan Khang is leading the pack. The event is also special for her because, if it happened, this would be the 25-year-old’s first LPGA victory.
However, the bigger buzz in the town is the upcoming Solheim Cup. American and European players will be teeing it up at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain, in September. And the golf world is awaiting the time players will work to gain the cup in the 18th edition of the biennial event.

Megan Khang is already prepping for her Solheim Cup game
Most of the leaderboard struggled on Saturday at Vancouver’s Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club. But the two on the top of it stayed strong. American professional Khang carded birdies on four out of the five holes. She held onto her second-round lead when she scored a 6-under 66.
In her interview, she spoke about the much-awaited Solheim Cup. The reporters pointed out Khang is playing against the European professional Linn Grant. And they will face each other again in Spain the following month. Turns out, though, Megan has thought about it.
She said, “It was a lot of fun. I don’t know what led to this, but in my head I was like, oh, this is nice little prep for Solheim. Funny enough that it is us two who are on the team — I know she’s on her team. I know I clinched it. So it’s little fun games that I try keep myself entertained out there. It’s not a ton, but obviously it’s not the huge focus. But, again, it’s nice to have a little game with myself.”
The official handle of CPKC Women’s Open posted a detailed scorecard of Megan Khang, announcing what is entering the finale on Sunday. The 68 was her final score at the end of Saturday when she finished at 4-under 68, moving to 11-under overall.

Another player leading close to Khang in Vancouver is South Korean Sei Young Kim. She carded two eagles, as well as a hole-in-one. And sits two shots back of Khang with 5-under 67. However, let’s focus on Linn Grant, who also has clinched her Solheim Cup spot.

Khang and Grant to meet again in Spain
For the LPGA and LET circuits, the Solheim Cup is a coveted international tournament for women’s golf. While Stacy Lewis will head the American team, Suzann Pettersen will lead the European players. Like men’s professional Ryder Cup, the two ways to get selected for Solheim are automatic qualifiers and the captain’s pick.
