The Americas Junior Golf Association, also known as the AGJA, was founded in 1978. The AJGA aims to nurture young aspiring golfers in the United States and provides opportunities for talented junior golfers to showcase their skills and compete against top-level competition. The association hosts several tournaments throughout the year and allows budding golfers from all over the country to participate in the events.
From June 1–4, the AJGA golfers will be playing alongside the LPGA professional golfers who also happen to be the AJGA alumnus. Here’s what the LPGA pros have to say about this nostalgic experience

AJGA alumni, including Brooke, comment on the junior golfers
The Mizuho Americas Open is currently being held at the Liberty National Golf Club, Jersey City, NJ. Some professional LPGA golfers like Rose Whang, Jin Young Ko, Lydia Ko, and Brooke Henderson, among others, will be hitting the green and playing alongside junior golfers. Having been a part of this association themselves, these golfers are beyond grateful for having this opportunity given to them.

play alongside each other. She said, “AJGA meant a lot to me growing up as a junior golfer.”
“I sort of wished I would have had this opportunity to come play with LPGA Tour players. It’s really awesome for them and cool for us,” she added.
World No. 1 amateur golfer Rose Zhang, had some beautiful words to share too: “So special. It brings me back to my junior golfer days.” She also reflected on her journey from AJGA to LPGA saying, “It’s crazy that I’m in this transition to professional golf now, but it kind of stays rooted to where I was beforehand.“

Brittany Lincicome, who is an 8-time LPGA Tour winner got the “chills” for having the chance to be a part of this Tournament. She said, “Me doing this when I was that age, I would have been so scared, so nervous.”
Brooke Henderson grabs 13th LPGA Tour title
The 25-year-old LPGA Tour pro, who aims to make a couple of wins every year, started 2023 strong with her 13th winner’s title at the Tournament of Champions. Brooke wrapped up the round with a score of 2 under 70 and grabbed the feat over Maja Stark and Charley Hull. She said, “To come out and win this week is really the dream start to 2023.”

The 13-time LPGA Tour winner took home $225,000 in prize money. The Canadian golfer shared her joy by saying, “I always love this event.
