Butch Harmon is a well-known golf instructor. He has coached many amazing players, which includes legends like Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. The former golf commentator has addressed the ongoing LIV Golf and PGA Tour feud. 

Harmon has been credited for helping many players reach their full potential. He is considered as the best instructor in the golf industry. Moreover, the former pro golfer has written instructional books on golf as well.

Butch Harmon has no harsh feelings for LIV Golf

In a recent interview with the Five clubs podcast host, Gary Williams, the 1948 major winner expressed his views of the LIV Golf faction. Harmon expressed that has no ill feelings towards the organization, while throwing a shade at Woods. “Look, I’m not anti-LIV Golf like a lot of people,” he said.

The 79- year-old feels that people have the right to do whatever they want. And according to him, turning down such good offers from LIV would be foolish. “Guys that were offered a lot of money, I would say you would be a fool to turn it down,” he added.

However, he wants people to understand the fact that every decision they take, whether it’s in golf or in life, they are bound to have some consequences. Additionally, Harmon has no grievances with players who left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf. “The guys that left the PGA Tour to go play in LIV, I have no problem with it.”

He understands that these players were not happy with the PGA Tour. And thought they weren’t going to get a chance to play here, so they chose to leave.

Harmon is not a fan of the feud 

The former golf commentator believes the focus of everyone should be on golf. It shouldn’t matter whether it’s the PGA Tour or LIV Golf. “I think we just need to play golf.”

He strongly discourages the series of verbal spats and Twitter feuds that have been going on between the organizations and their players. But, he does appreciate the players who have taken a stand for the PGA Tour.

Moreover, Harmon believes it’s the egos of Jay Mohanan, the PGA Tour commissioner and Norman that is stopping the resolution of the ongoing feud. And that at this pace, it could take them at least 4-5 years to resolve their differences.
