When a new branch of the golf league backed by Saudi investors called LIV Golf was formed, one of the major concerns that rose was will LIV be as beneficial as the PGA Tour. But LIV has kicked off all the doubts and allegations that have been haunting it since its inception. It has managed to attain so much success in such little time that it has left everyone amazed.

The reason that top players like Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and others left the old and traditional PGA Tour was mainly monetary compensation. And some players like Bryson DeChambeau even cited it out loud. Besides easier rules, less hustle, and ease of the game, the most lucrative factor for the players’ switching was money. And after such heavy investment, LIV has finally reaped its fruit by generating millions in revenue.

LIV Golf boasts of millions of revenue in the last 1.5 years

During a recent press release held by them, LIV issued a huge statement. In 2022 LIV held five events in the US in Oregon, New Jersey, Boston, Illinois, and Miami. And, according to research firm Vision Insights, which make analysis for Super Bowl and other sports tournaments, the assembled outcome for these events was around $219 million. According to the firm’s calculation, the economic benefit from LIV Golf League in 2023 could be more than a whooping amount of $258 million.

They further announced – “LIV Golf tournaments also contribute millions of dollars to state and local tax revenue, yielding more than $6 million in tax revenue across five U.S. markets in the 2022 season and more than $9 million across eight U.S. markets in the 2023 season, according to Vision Insights,they acknowledged. Based on the statement, this figure could be a big aid to the American government.

Major success after initial struggle for LIV

PGA Tour and its supporters have attacked LIV whenever they had a chance and one pressure point used by them was that LIV Golf is not generating revenue. It was after much hard work that LIV Golf attained a broadcasting deal and national distribution. They were also involved in a lawsuit where they accused PGA Tour of anticompetitive conduct and damaging LIV’s brand which is affecting LIV financially.

Present at the press release was LIV’S CEO Greg Norman, who backed these statements. He announced the positive impact of LIV in various sectors. According to him, the tourism revenue generated during LIV’S US tournaments was $9.4 million. These sure are impressive stats.
