With The Sentry, the new PGA Tour season is officially here! Golfers have teed off at the iconic Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui. And let’s be honest—Tour-wise 2024 was not really the best. There were some hiccups like dropping viewership, poor weather planning, delayed merger, reduced field sizes, and whatnot. All of this created a lot of headaches for Jay Monahan. But hey, it was not all bad. There were excitement, and unforgettable moments too.

Scottie Scheffler had a historic season, Tiger Woods broke tradition by skipping the Hero World Challenge, and Xander Schauffele finally broke through as a major champion. We also saw standout performances from international stars like Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama. Golfer-wise, it could be classified as a good year! It is now time for Monahan to revive, it seems.

PGA Tour Studios is officially up and running. After years in development, this 165,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will bring fans a sharper, more immersive viewing experience. Other than this, fans have noticed one more thing: the leaderboard. Yes, the leaderboard. It’s gotten a refresh, and golf enthusiasts are here for it. With a clean, modern design that’s easier to read, it’s a small change that’s making a big impact.

After the first day’s play, the leaderboard looks good and well, unexpected. Tom Hoge stands at the top having shot 64. Returning from injuries and having gotten a special Masters surprise, Will Zalatoris is at T2 with 65 under his belt. So is Hideki Matsuyama. Collin Morikawa, Cameron Young, and Corey Conners are tied for T4.

Fans are here for this small change as they are loving it. Their reactions all across X are proving it.

An X user wrote, “New look leaderboard is also lovely. Clean, crisp, informative.” And they’re right. With its refreshed blue-and-white theme, player headshots, and country flags, the leaderboard feels modern and polished. No more squinting at overly bright designs; the new version is easy on the eyes and highly legible, especially during long broadcasts. Another user summed it up perfectly writing, “I was just gonna comment… new graphic package is way more readable… clean…”

Even those who were comfortable with the old setup are giving this update a thumbs up. “I’m a fan of the new graphics package on PGA Tour Live. Didn’t think the old one was bad. But this one is a good upgrade,” one remarked. That’s the beauty of this change—it isn’t polarizing. Another fan chimed in, “New season, new graphics on PGA Tour Live.”

However, the updated graphics have sparked some confusion too. One fan humorously asked, “I have no idea what the P5/P4/P3 etc is up top? And I’ve watched and played golf for 40 years.”
