The same game that made people love him 12 years ago has now become a constant source of criticism for Anthony Kim. It is evident that Kim has been struggling since coming out of hiatus. At his first two events in Jeddah and Hong Kong, Kim shot well over par and subsequently finished 53rd and 50th, respectively.

The vicious cycle has not stopped even at LIV Golf Miami. The event has been through two rounds, and Kim has played underwhelmingly once again. In round one, the 38-year-old shot five bogeys, followed by only one birdie at the par-4 16th. He was 4 over 76. In the second round, things were expected to improve, as Kim started with a birdie on the par-5 first hole.

However, things went downhill from the very next hole. The LA native shot his first bogey on the second hole, adding eight more and a double bogey on the 10th. He ended the round after making a birdie on the 17th and a par on the 18th. The drastic round was 9 over par 81, the worst round Kim has scored in the last three events. The scorecard of the pro was recently shared on X by NUCLR Golf, asking if Kim would ever be back in his form.

The post aimed to know the people’s thoughts about Kim’s game, and it did. As one would expect, it garnered much criticism of the 38-year-old pro and his recent struggles on the greens. The golf world was certainly not hopeful of Kim ever finding his older self!

Netizens trash Anthony Kim as he stumbles down in Miami

Anthony Kim’s return to the golf course and frequent camera attention have been an exciting journey. The veteran pro has been taking it slowly and trying to improve his game. However, many in the golf world believed that the past Kim could never return, as they went on to flood the post with “nope” in response to the question. Some even highlighted that there was no incentive for Kim to improve because, regardless of the result, he didn’t face any repercussions and got paid, thanks to LIV’s no-cut style of play. “LIV is a complete joke,” one stated.

In three back-to-back events, Kim has consistently been at the bottom. And even though there are a few glimpses of his older self with some drives and some putts, overall there hasn’t been too much progress. One fan certainly felt that way too and dubbed his recent performance an “embarrassing scene” to witness. Another chimed in with an arguably even harsher stance. Clearly upset Kim’s game, they wrote, “Guy is a LOSER.”

Kim only recently opened up to the press about falling in love with the game now; however, some found that to be a hoax  and could not understand how others could even be fascinated with Kim or his return. “Don’t know why people are so fascinated by this clown.” Another user took an even more brutal dig at Kim and his future in golf. They declared that his recent games made it clear that he was no longer suited for competitive golf and that his multiple injuries over the years had left him slow and broken.

Before playing in Miami, Kim finished the last round in Hong Kong at 5 under 65, his first and only under-par round. From that point on, many expected to see a new and improved pro. However, now he’s taken a couple of steps back in that regard. It’s clear that Anthony Kim will have to do something extraordinary to gain the golf world’s trust and find the support that he had back in 2012.
