Golf is a popular game in America. And while almost all the PGA Tour and LIV Golf players are well-known in the country, Americans know only a handful of female golfers. Being two in the top order of Rolex rankings, everyone is familiar with Lexi Thompson and Nelly Korda.
Thompson had been a professional golfer since 2010 and an LPGA Tour player two years later. On the other hand, 24-year-old Korda started her career as a pro and an LPGA golfer in 2016, five years after the former. However, does the difference in experience help Thompson earn more on the LPGA Tour than the younger golfer?

The 27-year-old has been America’s favorite female golfer since she turned professional at a young age and was able to mark her first victory soon after. Notably, she was only 16 years old when she won the 2011 Navistar LPGA Classic, becoming the youngest to win a title in the Tour’s history.
After getting the membership to play on the Tour in 2012, Thompson won her first and second titles in 2013. She recorded her first and only major victory in 2014 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
It has been over ten years since Thompson started to play in the LPGA Tour events. And she has won eleven times on the American Tour for women golfers, a major, and earned $13,394,372 throughout her career. Notably, she has also participated in several other events like Solheim Cup and the Olympics.
Nelly Korda – the young talent in the making
When it comes to world rankings, male golfers in America are dominating in the top 10. However, only Thompson and Nelly Korda could find a place in the top 10 as US players, ranking 7th and 4th, respectively.

Korda has a higher rank than Lexi Thompson in Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings. However, that doesn’t make her win more titles on the Tour than her senior player. In her six years of Tour career, Norda has won seven championships. This includes her only major victory at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. She has earned $7,155,977 throughout her Tour career.
Notably, unlike Thompson or any other existing players, Korda is the only one to win an Olympic gold medal since Margaret Abbott in 1900. She has also been part of the Solheim Cup twice in her short career.
