Sam Woods started the speech by mentioning the greatest gift Woods won in his life. She revealed the side of his father, who values his privacy largely hidden. However, things went emotional when she talked about Woods’ single-car accident in February 2021. He had a brutal accident where he almost lost his right leg and sustained multiple fractures. As a result, he had to stay away from competing on the PGA tour.

Apart from unknown facts about Woods, she mentioned that it was a scary moment for the whole Woods family. No one knew what would happen, and everyone wondered if Woods would ever be able to walk. His fans were missing him on the golf course.

Sam said, “We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not. Now not only are you about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here on your own two feet.” Her father was a strong man because he was a fighter, making him even more deserving of the award. “This is why you deserve this because you’re a fighter,” she added.

Her words were felt by everyone present there, including the 15-time major championship winner himself. However, she learned a great deal from her father’s journey. While she was writing the speech, she realized how her father had overcome all the difficulties in his life. And despite the rough patches, Tiger has always emerged victorious. “You know, train hard, fight easy,” Sam said.

He reached Orlando from Pittsburgh and drove to Winnie Palmer Hospital. And there, his daughter was born five minutes after his arrival. It was June 18, 2007, and the pro was still in his signature red T-shirt. Her birth was the greatest gift he got. “He may have lost that day, but he won the greatest gift of all,” said Sam.
