World No. 2, Collin Morikawa turned 25 yesterday and had a unique way to declare it to his fans. He wished himself a happy birthday on Twitter as he was excited to reach the milestone. However, the way he let the world know about his birthday was a bit unusual, but hilarious nonetheless.
I finally don’t have to worry about rental car restrictions! #25

Notably, it was not the birthday Morikawa was excited about, but rather the liberty that comes with turning 25. He took to Twitter and wrote, “I finally don’t have to worry about rental car restrictions! #25.”

In America, one must be at least 21 to rent a car. Some companies allow 18-year-olds to do that, but it is a rare case. Even though the companies let anyone above 21 rent a car, most of them levy a ‘young driver’ surcharge if you are under 25.
Fans react to the birthday tweet from Collin Morikawa
Collin is a PGA Tour golfer who is currently ranked at No. 2 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Although it has been only a couple of years since he turned pro, his achievements speak for his caliber. Morikawa has won five PGA Tour titles, including two majors, since 2019. He also has represented his country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the Ryder Cup.
Clearly, Morikawa has tasted plenty of success, despite his young age. Hence, fans were thrilled to see how still the small things in life, like renting a car, brought the young golfer such joy. One of them wrote, “Oh my. I thought I misread this. What an amazing journey you’ve had at such a young age. Such a pleasure to watch you Collin. Best of luck in all your endeavors.”
Life Goals!! I’m proud of you man.

Too funny CM. Long after reaching certain ages (for voting, drinking , car rentals!) you forget what major milestones they were! Happy belated!

Many fans were surprised to know that Collin had just turned 25 since he is already one of the top golfers in the world.
You mean to tell me that one of the best golfers in the sport is only 3 months older than me!?!?!?!?!?!? Time to hit the course!

Notably, a few even shared the sentiment, as they too struggled with the restrictions due to their age.
Had to pay a $29 charge today, outrageous! This is ageism!

I bought my first car at 23. Before I left the lot, I noticed a bit of front bumper damage (minor, surface scrape but one I of course wanted fixed on a brand new card). They told me they couldn’t give me a loaner when I brought it back to be fixed because of age restrictions 🙄
